CHIN CORRECTION

KINNKORREKTURIn surgical chin correction, the bony parts of the chin are corrected. By removing the bone, shifting the chin bone or inserting implants, the chin can be both enlarged and reduced, and also changed in shape.

Depending on the method chosen, surgical chin plastic takes place under general anesthesia or under local anesthesia.

The surgical chin correction takes about 1 – 2 hours, depending on the effort and surgical method. If a chin is to be corrected, the plastic surgeon will insert an implant if necessary to produce the desired volume. The implant can be made of artificial materials or the body’s own bone material. That depends entirely on the patient.

The result is usually immediately visible. Treatment sites should be cooled to counteract swelling and bruising.
